The Summit Toastmasters have created this blog for members and also for visitors to explore the local Toastmasters club. We meet two times per month, the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month, at 6:30pm at the centrally located Frisco Town Hall.
So what is Toastmasters?
Toastmasters is an organization dedicated to helping people become comfortable with speaking in front of groups and also to become better with interpersonal communications. Members give frequent speeches to gain experience talking in front of people. Speakers are critiqued by colleagues and feedback is obtained to help the speaker constantly improve their communication skills. In addition to speaking, members fill a variety of roles during a meeting ranging from Evaluator to Ahh Counter to the master of ceremonies aka the “Toastmaster.”
So, if you’re interested in getting rid of those presentation-induced jitters or working on improving your skills when introducing yourself to a fellow professional, come try Toastmasters.
